Candy Crush Publisher King Sees Decline in Shares

[dropcap style=”style1″]T[/dropcap]he developer of mobile game sensation Candy Crush Saga saw a fall in shares as low as 14 percent following the report of “softer” revenue expectations in the current financial quarter.

Vietgame.asia – Their expectations are lower than is normal for King, with an expected earnings of $490 mil to $520 mil. Despite the drop in earnings, they remain positive and expect to see a surge when Candy Crush Saga releases on Windows 10 and new games launch in the second half of 2015.

Candy Crush first released as a Facebook game in 2012, then later was made available on mobile devices. It has been so successful that the founders were declared more rich than the creators of Grand Theft Auto – Sam and Dan Houser.

The Housers ranked 947 in the list with combined wealth coming in at £90 million. While this slightly pips the amount hoarded by King COO Stephane Kurgan (£85 million and ranked 989), it’s completely eclipsed by the two gentlemen who founded the mobile developer.

King co-founder Riccardo Zacconi hit the 271st position thanks to his overall worth of £354 million, while his fellow founder Sebastian Knutsson was 458th with £200 million. Top of the list in the gaming department is Derbyshire businessman Mel Morris, who happens to have a 12 per cent stake in King, whose £430 million wealth helps him to net position 238.

They’ve also been a part of some controversy in recent years, especially when King attempted to trademark the words “Candy” and “Saga,” even going so far as to file a Notice of Opposition with the developers of The Banner Saga.

Candy Crush Saga is now available on King, Facebook, App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore and Windows Phone.
