In Fishing Diary, your main job is to shoot different kinds of fish with a cannon to earn gold. There're varied sizes of cannon to use: the stronger it is, the more easier to kill bigger fishes.

But there's a catch here: you use your own gold as ammunition - and that means, the greater size of cannon you use, the more gold you have to spend. And to earn profit, you have to aim for bigger fish so that even if you spend a great amount of gold per shot, you can earn back much more. The trick is to aim for the mermaid or the hammher-head shark, which allows you to spin for a lottery with much better loot.

Although having a decent graphics, the background in Fishing Diary is quite limited, only 2 - 3 types repeated. The BGMs are quiet and boring, while you can only hear the sound of coins ringing non-stop and a few ambient sounds.

Combined together, you could fall asleep easily if you aren't in the heat of earning some gold.
