[dropcap style=”style1″]T[/dropcap]he videogame company “Supercell” tripled its revenue and doubled its earnings in 2014. Supercell has published only three mobile game titles: Clash of Clans, Hay Day and Boom Beach.
Compare to the $570 million of sales generated by Clash of Clans and Hay Day in 2013, the addition of Boom Beach to the mix and improved operations on its first two games boosted 2014 sales threefold to $1.7 billion. That stated, the figure was less than some analysts suggest. Superdata had estimated that Clash of Clans alone could have generated $1.8 billion during 2014.
Demonstrating the expensive nature of user acquisition, profits didn’t increase at the same rate, however. Gross earnings (EBITDA) were up 111 percent to $565 million.
