[dropcap style=”style1″]T[/dropcap]he new Nvidia Shield console has been announced at GDC this week. It runs on Android and allows you to stream games downloaded from Google Play on to your TV.
Vietgame.asia – As part of this, a bunch of new games are heading to Google Play so that you can buy and then play them on this new Nvidia Shield when it comes out later this year.As listed on Nvidia’s website, these include:
- Crysis 3
- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
- Borderlands: The Pre Sequel
- Resident Evil 5
- Doom 3 BFG Edition
- War Thunder
- Contrast
- The Talos Principle
In total, there will be 50 games compatible with the Nvidia Shield console. Others include Batman Arkham: Origins, GRID 2, Metro: Last Light Redux, and Ultra Street Fighter IV.
While it’s clear that not all of these will be compatible with the Nvidia Shield tablet, there’s a chance that some of them will be. That’s the bit we’re interested in, of course.
Nvidia Shield supports 4K video output, has both fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi and an Ethernet jack, and even has an IR receiver that works with Logitech’s Harmony remote controls. For expansion, it has two USB 3.0 ports, a Micro-USB port, and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB in size, to augment the built-in 16GB of storage.
The Nvidia Shield will be available in the US in May, starting at $199; international pricing and availability was not announced.[su_icon_panel background=”transparent” border=”1px none #cccccc” shadow=”0px 0px 0px #eeeeee” icon=”icon: html5″ icon_color=”#1f6dc9″ icon_size=”70″ url=”http://www.nvidia.com/”][/su_icon_panel][su_icon_panel background=”transparent” border=”1px none #cccccc” shadow=”0px 0px 0px #eeeeee” icon=”icon: facebook-square” icon_color=”#1f6dc9″ icon_size=”70″ url=”https://www.facebook.com/NVIDIA?fref=ts”][/su_icon_panel]Thanks, Pocketgamer.Images by Nvidia.
